For our finishes we refer to a historic Italian company leader in this field that guarantees us a raw material of the best quality: all the wood comes from legal and certified forests, as well as the different colors, through which it is dyed in the thickness for a perfect homogeneity and color rendering. After years of testing and experimentation in search of the best and most durable materials, we have chosen the wood type of walnut and ash, natural or stained.
To these finishes we wanted to add a special variant: the Abonos ™.
Abonos™ is a fossil oak sourced from rivers in the Sava area, at the northwest border of the Balkan Peninsula. Its wood preservation process is special because, although it is the result of an underwater storage, it manages to keep its properties and at the same time it increases its hardness. It can be defined as a sub-fossil: there has been a prolonged storage under low oxygen levels that starts a genuine fossilization that remained incomplete. Older trunks can reach an age greater than 8000 years with colors that vary from golden to black but always with different shades. Each trunk is not only a raw material but also a piece of history.
*the use of this finish requires a surcharge.
As the wood they are made of, every Sandy Shapes snowboards is unique.
This finish is illustrative and will vary in the grain and shade, depending on the veneer used.

These are the main colors that we have chosen for our collection, but they are not the only ones… if you want something special do not hesitate to contact us, we are always ready to experiment.
