Wood Evolution™

Wood evolution™ is a composite material derived from natural wood, transformed through an innovative patented process. Wood evolution™technology allows us to use authentic wood in our snowboard topsheets, thus increasing performances and durability, while also making them more sustainable and eco friendly. Thanks to Wood evolution™ we can infact avoid using the plastic materials and inks commonly used by the snowboard industry.

Wood evolution™ not only has exceptional mechanical and structural properties, but also allows for reduced thicknesses and it acquires characteristics that natural wood would not have, with a multitude of possible applications.

All of this still maintains an absolutely natural look where the patterns of the wood grain, such as veins and knots, are enhanced. The final look reflects the kind of wood used for every topsheet, that can be natural or dyed.
The wood then undergoes a finishing treatment with natural oils and waxes, which the Sandy Shapes rider can replicate over the years through our Beauty Care Treatment.

Finally, by using laser technology, we are able to carve our logo on the surface of our boards, thus avoiding the use of inks and prints of any kind. The laser also offers the chance of adding customizations for those customers who want an even more unique and special all wood snowboard.
